PROJECT 52: WEEK THIRTYEIGHT – 35mm

I borrowed a camera and a lens from a friend (thx Tobsi!) and decided to do a shoot with it, just to give it a try. So here’s the Sigma 35mm ART lens on a Canon 6D full frame camera. This combo allows for a narrow depth of field even with wide angles. Smooth backgrounds and all that. But since “I’ve got a lens to play around with” isn’t really a theme, we just walked through the center of Bonn, checking out all the sights, kinda like tourists in our own city. Continue reading

PROJECT 52: WEEK THIRTYTWO – HIGHSPEED SYNC

This was a quick and easy one. Well not all that easy, since I forgot some part of the equipment and had to scrap a couple of photo ideas unfortunately. However: All I did here was to make use of some special features of the Fuji X100s camera. Basically in bright conditions (and its really summer now and the sunlight is massive) it’s hard to expose people and the background properly. Using a small flash, the cameras built in filter and it’s ability to sync flashes really fast, I was able to get some interesting exposures. See the comparison below. PROJECT 52: WEEK TWENTYNINE – HAY

So, there’s a few weeks missing here. There’s three reasons:

  • Both of us went on different vacations, leaving no time to shoot
  • I actually have a few more sets, that I just haven’t gotten to post
  • I’m lazy when it comes to editing

But, the project is still going on! And here is the latest post: Summer is in full effect, well sometimes (its cold and rainy today), and so we went and took a few photos with big hay bales that have quite a summery feeling. Continue reading
